Neighbors

The TV here is awful. They have five stations- one that is mostly news/sports, no commercials (which would be good if they didn't show the same thing over and over, kind of like a free CNN); three networks, one which shows big brother constantly, one that has really bad American dramas (Prison Break?!) and another that mostly shows sports. The last channel I haven't quite figured out yet. Some weird mix of foreign movies, sports (they show everything that ever happens in the country that involves a ball), and do it yourself shows that have really bad tips.

One of the highlights of Australian viewing is the show "Neighbors", a half-hour soap opera that is filmed in Melbourne (you can even take a tour of the set!), that puts a whole new spin on wooden acting and bad lighting. It's on EVERY DAY and people watch it religiously. I only found it because they play the Simpsons as a lead-in. Really.

When I read the title of today's comments, I thought you were fighting with your neighbors. You will have to keep us up to date on the drama of the bad soap opera!
